At the Missouri Class Championships, National Master Julian Proleiko, competing in the most difficult, Master/Expert Section, proved to be an unstoppable force. With 5 wins in 5 rounds, Julian finished a full 1.5 points ahead of his closest pursuer. He did it in dominant style, seeming to never be in serious trouble all weekend. This win caps off his 1st place finish in the Missouri Open Championship in September, giving him both of the top State Championship titles for 2021! Congratulations NM Proleiko! We look forward to seeing if you can repeat the sweep next year! ... See MoreSee Less

A Class at the Missouri Class Championship was absolutely dominated by the stellar performance of Prateek Nemmali. Prateek score a Perfect 5/5, winning every game to finish a full 2 points ahead of the field. Just to show how impressive his run was, his 5 opponents literally finished in 2nd, 3rd, 4th 5th and 6th place in the event. With no easy pairings, his flawless record came against the highest rated and best performing players in his section! The event shoots Prateek's rating up to being just shy of Expert status, a title we are confident he will soon attain with the way he is playing. Congratulations on your A Class State Championship Prateek! ... See MoreSee Less

The B Class Section at the Missouri Class Championships ended with 2 players at the top of the leaderboard at 4pts each. Sujay Sureshkumar, won his last round game in short order. One of the first games done, Sujay knew he had secured at least a tie for the top spot. His wait was long though, as nearly the last game to finish was Diwakar Rana finally claiming his final round victory and grabbing a tie for first place. Both players bounced back from an early loss to sweep their games Sunday to secure first place. Sujay, seen below got to take home the hardware, but congratulations to both players on a great run! ... See MoreSee Less

The C Class Section at the Missouri Class Championships quickly became the hotbed of upsets and surprises. While three other sections saw a player manage a perfect score, no one in C class even survived the first day unscathed. So it was no surprise when the dust settled there was a tie at the top, with the top 3 tiebreaks showing only a 0.5 difference. Sudeep Vadderaju and Joshua Gu ended the weekend as Co-Champions managing 3 wins and 2 draws each for an impressive 4/5. Both enjoyed a near 100 point rating gain, a nice cash prize, and a share of the title of State Champion! ... See MoreSee Less
