2019 Brian’s Birthday Bash

Format: 5 rounds Swiss – Game/120 with 5 second delay; Two Sections: Open Section & Reserve-U1600 (Based on August 2019 Rating Supplement)
Saturday: Registration 8:00AM – 9:30AM; Round 1 – 10:00AM; Round 2 – 2:30PM; Round 3 – 7:00PM; Sunday: Round 4 – 9:30AM; Round 5 – 2:00PM.
Entry Fee: All players pay on-site on Saturday. Only Cash will be accepted. Refer to the table for both adult and scholastic rates. The scholastic rate is for players that are K-12 students and playing for rating-only, not cash prizes. Players must check-in by 9:30AM or else they will not be paired for first round.
Adults – $50 pre-registered, $60 onsite. Scholastics – $20 pre-registered, $30 onsite.
Awards: See Table Below – Prizes will increase proportionally if number of adult entries is above 30! Open Section: $180-$120-$60-Top U1800 $40; Reserve-U1600: $180-$120-$60-Top U1200 $40.

Equipment: Please bring boards and sets. Very limited equipment in case players forget from Acerook Chess Club (10 boards & sets / 10 clocks).
Food and Drinks: Players may leave as soon as they are finished with the 1st round to get lunch but must return before 2nd round to not risk losing time.
Other: Players are expected to know the rules in U.S. Chess Federation’s Official Rules of Chess – 7th edition and any updated rule changes since the 7th edition. There is a time delay of 5 seconds. 1 half-point bye is offered for any round, if requested prior before the start of round 2.
