DESCRIPTION:October 3\, 2025 – National Master Bob Holliman will be at the Springfield\, MO. Chess Club on Friday night to deliver a lecture on how to make plans in chess. Entry is $5. It will start around 7:30 PM. \nOctober 4 and 5\, 2025 – The Springfield Open \nSouthside Senior Center\n2215 South Fremont\nSpringfield\, Missouri 65804 \n$30 entry by September 25\, $45 after. Scholastic players can enter for rating only (not eligible for prizes) for $15. \n5-round Swiss. G/90;d5. Open section and under 1400 section. If sections are combined for pairings\, U1400 prizes will still be given out. \nSaturday Rounds: 10:30 AM\, 2:15 PM\, 5:30 PM\nSunday Rounds: 10:30 AM\, 2:15 PM (Or earlier if players agree.) \nPrizes: Open – First $200 (Guaranteed)\, Second $150\, Third $100.\nU1400 – First $150\, Second $100\, Third $75.\nFirst place prize in the open is guaranteed. All other prizes are based on 30 full-paid entries. \nOne half-point bye if claimed before round 3. No prizes for players who withdraw. US Chess Federation membership must be current before the start of round 1.
