DESCRIPTION:• REGISTRATION: On-site tournament registration will be from 8:30 am to 9:30 am. Advanced registration and payment are strongly encouraged. For advanced registration visit www.mochess.org and follow the instructions. The deadline for advanced registration is 6:00 pm\, Friday\, March 18. Those who pre-register and pre-pay can skip the check-in line the morning of the event. ONLINE REGISTRATION: http://www.gatewaychess.org/online-reg-mosc-new.html#reg \n• ELIGIBILITY: All students in kindergarten through grade twelve (K-12) in Missouri are eligible to participate. \n• FORMAT: \n\nHIGH SCHOOL DIVISION: Students grades nine (9) through twelve (12) are eligible. Each school may enter any number of four player teams and a partial team. The best player on each team should be assigned to Board One\, the second best to board two\, and so forth. A school that enters only a partial team must assign the players to the highest boards. Schools that enter partial teams in addition to one or more full teams may assign players to any board. Players will only play those in their section (i.e.\, Board 1 players play only other Board 1\, Board 2 players only Board 2\, and so forth).\n\nROUND TIMES: 10:30\, 1:00\, 3:30\, and 6:00. Final round will start earlier if possible.\nTIME CONTROL: Game in 60 minutes\n\n\nUNDER SECTIONS: Ninth Grade and Under (K-9)\, Eighth Grade and Under (K-8)\, Sixth Grade and Under (K-6)\, Fifth Grade and Under (K-5)\, and Third Grade and Under (K-3) sections. Players may not compete in sections including grades higher than the highest grade the school the player represents. The Missouri Chess Association will cover the cost of USCF membership for new/expired entrants. \n• RATINGS: United States Chess Federation ratings will be used where possible. Grade twelve students without ratings will be assigned a rating of 800 for pairing purposes\, grade eleven students will be assigned a rating of 750\, and so forth. \n• TIE BREAKERS: Ties will be broken using Modified Median\, Solkoff\, Cumulative\, and Cumulative Opp. for individual trophies and using Solkoff\, Cumulative\, Cumulative Opp.\, and Median for team trophies. \n• EQUIPMENT: Sets and boards will be provided for use in the Under Sections. DESCRIPTION:• REGISTRATION: On-site tournament registration will be from 8:30 am to 9:30 am. Advanced registration and payment are strongly encouraged. For advanced registration visit www.mochess.org and follow the instructions. The deadline for advanced registration is 6:00 pm\, Friday\, March 17. Those who pre-register and pre-pay can skip the check-in line the morning of the event. \n• ELIGIBILITY: All students in kindergarten through grade twelve (K-12) in Missouri are eligible to participate. \n• FORMAT: \n\nHIGH SCHOOL DIVISION: Students grades nine (9) through twelve (12) are eligible. Each school may enter any number of four player teams and a partial team. The best player on each team should be assigned to Board One\, the second best to board two\, and so forth. A school that enters only a partial team must assign the players to the highest boards. Schools that enter partial teams in addition to one or more full teams may assign players to any board. Players will only play those in their section (i.e.\, Board 1 players play only other Board 1\, Board 2 players only Board 2\, and so forth).\n\nROUND TIMES: 10:30\, 1:00\, 3:30\, and 6:00. Final round will start earlier if possible.\nTIME CONTROL: Game in 55 minutes with a 5 second time delay\n\n\nUNDER SECTIONS: Ninth Grade and Under (K-9)\, Eighth Grade and Under (K-8)\, Sixth Grade and Under (K-6)\, Fifth Grade and Under (K-5)\, and Third Grade and Under (K-3) sections. DESCRIPTION:• REGISTRATION: On-site tournament registration will be from 8:30 am to 9:30 am. Advanced registration and payment are strongly encouraged. For advanced registration visit www.mochess.org and follow the instructions. The deadline for advanced registration is 6:00 pm\, Friday\, March 15. Those who pre-register and pre-pay can skip the check-in line the morning of the event! \n• ELIGIBILITY: All students in kindergarten through grade twelve (K-12) in Missouri are eligible to participate. \n• FORMAT: \n\nHIGH SCHOOL DIVISION: Students grades nine (9) through twelve (12) are eligible. Each school may enter any number of four player teams and a partial team. The best player on each team should be assigned to Board One\, the second best to board two\, and so forth. A school that enters only a partial team must assign the players to the highest boards. Schools that enter partial teams in addition to one or more full teams may assign players to any board. Players will only play those in their section (i.e.\, Board 1 players play only other Board 1\, Board 2 players only Board 2\, and so forth).\n\nROUND TIMES: 10:30\, 1:00\, 3:30\, and 6:00. Final round will start earlier if possible.\nTIME CONTROL: Game in 55 minutes with a 5 second time delay\n\n\nUNDER SECTIONS: Ninth Grade and Under (K-9)\, Eighth Grade and Under (K-8)\, Sixth Grade and Under (K-6)\, Fifth Grade and Under (K-5)\, and Third Grade and Under (K-3) sections. DESCRIPTION:Players of any age are invited to join the Springfield\, Missouri Chess Club on May 10 and 11 for a group lesson with National Master Bob Holliman\, an unrated blitz tournament with the prize of a USCF membership\, and a 3-round G/90 Swiss. \nFriday May 10\, 2024\nFree class with National Master Bob Holliman – Everyone is welcome to join us at our regular Friday night club meeting for a free class taught by National Master and chess teacher Bob Holliman. Mr. Holliman will be giving his lecture\, “The Secrets Chess.” His focus will be on the best ways to study and play based on a lifetime of experience. The class will last 45-60 minutes followed by up to 30 minutes in which you’ll have an opportunity to ask a National Master your biggest questions about chess. \nWe will plan to start at 7:30 PM on May 10 at the Southside Senior Center in Springfield\, Missouri. \nWin a USCF Membership Blitz – Following National Master Bob Holliman’s class\, we will have a blitz tournament for players whose US Chess Federation membership is expired or those who have never had a US Chess Federation membership. Five-round Swiss\, G/5;d0. Entry $7\, $5 for K-12 players\, $10 for families.
